ROYERSFORD, PA — Pope John Paul II won the district championship in 2025, and they were too much for Interboro to handle in this one as they advance back to the title game.
The teams were scoreless through an inning and a half, but PJP scored one in the second, three in the third, two in the fourth, and two in the sixth to win this one.
Carson Glose, Kayden Witter, Hunter Mishock, Gavin Gross and Jace Ferst all had two hits for PJP, with Mishock and Gross both driving in two runs.
Glose also threw 4.1 scoreless innings with two hits allowed and six strikeouts to start the game. Nico Digiacomo threw 1.2 innings allowing one run, and Tyler Tindall threw a scoreless seventh to close out the win.
For Interboro, Jaxson Munro had two hits and drove in the only Interboro run of the game with a single that scored Austin Dean. Munro allowed four earned runs over three innings with a strikeout. Kaiden Whalen allowed two runs over 1.2 innings of relief, and Tyler Green allowed two runs over 1.1 innings in relief.
Austin Dean, Chase Norbeck and Tyler Green also had hits for the Bucs in the loss.
Pope John Paul II advances to the District 1 4A championship on Friday at 4:00 PM at Villanova Ballpark in Plymouth Meeting where they will take on Holy Ghost.
Interboro’s season comes to an end as they finish at 13-8 with a young core and a lot to build on.
