PHILADELPHIA — Pat White may not become a Delco Baseball Now intern until mid-May, but we are going to claim this performance today.
The RIT commit homered and doubled while driving in two runs for The Haverford School as they took down Germantown Friends by a 12-0 final.
After Jaidyn Rivera reached on an error to leadoff the game, White came up with two outs and crushed one to left field. Germantown Friends does not have a fence, so White had to just leg that one out for his first of the year.
Doesn’t get better than a catcher inside-the-parker, just ask JT Realmuto in NLDS Game 3 back in 2022.
After Kevin Li tossed a scoreless bottom of the first, the Fords would add on to their lead thanks to back-to-back singles by Owen Murphy and Jaidyn Rivera.
The Fords would continue to add runs throughout the game, but Kevin Li was in full control on the mound. He threw five shutout innings allowing just two hits and struck out five while only walking one.
Germantown Friends hung around for a little while until Haverford started to open it up. A Zac Fuscaldo two-run double in the top of the fourth really gave the Fords some breathing room. Caleb Siever’s RBI double in the top of the fifth made it 7-0, and Haverford scored five in the top of the sixth to put the game in mercy rule territory.
Jack Chisholm threw a scoreless bottom of the sixth to secure the win for Haverford, who improved to 3-1 on the year. Next up for them will be a home game on Friday afternoon against a tough Strath Haven team who beat them in a great 7-5 game last year.
